How to Eliminate Debt
Posted on October 4th, 2008 by admin
I was strolling in the mall when I passed by an appliance store selling LCD TV with a discounted price of $2500. I have been wanting to buy one and with the discounted price, I thought it’s a good buy. I ran calculations and realized that my other credit card still has enough credit to pay for the LCD so I bought one without hesitation.
Just a week before, I vowed that I would never spend that much unless I need to because I have already maxed out my other two credit cards but I was lured and could not stop myself. I ended up incurring additional $2500 of credit card debt.
When I got home, I wanted to go back to the store and return my new LCD TV. Restraining oneself from buying something that is not a necessity is a challenge. And if I want to start my own business, I need to eliminate debt and save money. I called up my friend asking for advice and he told me that there are professionals who assist individuals like me in eliminating debts.
I went online and found a non profit organization offering the services I am looking for. They would guide you through the steps on how to eliminate debt. Their goal is to help people eliminate their debts by setting goals, consolidating your debts, and eventually to stay debt free and achieve financial freedom. They assist you in coming up with a debt management plan that would effectively help you in getting out of the hole you are in.
If you want to set up your own business, first you have to learn how to manage your debts and how to be debt free. You will never succeed in business if you do not know how to effectively manage your finances. Well, I guess I have to return my LCD TV.
