Can Blogging Change the World?

Posted on April 17th, 2008 by PinoyBusiness.ORG Blog Editor

Individuality is the core feature of “World 2.0″. The world was opened by the birth of the Internet which as we know, started out as a military project. The world is now different as we knew it. Information flows in and out instantaneously through computers connected by a complex structure of networks known as the World Wide Web.

In the industrial ages, the era wherein the capitalists are getting richer and the poor getting poorer, computers are mainly used to automate a database of consumers. Now, we are at the dawn of the information age and anyone among us can be a capitalist as long as we have unique first hand information. The key features of the information age is getting first hand information and sharing it to the World through a tool known as a blog. “Hello World!” You can use other forms of media but a blog (weblog) is the most economical representation of the human mind and soul.

The days of changing the world by use of mass media is almost over. Changing the world these days will be easy since I’m sure the you’d agree that a blog is considered a conduit of the things we have in our head. being through each other surpassing geographical boundaries. Ofcourse, we won’t set aside people earning through blogs for a living.

For me, a blog is the extension of my organic brain, a compartment of my intricate memories and a tool to extend our persona and our mind and soul to the fast growing World. Later in the near future, 3 generations from my generation, blogging will be part of everyone’s activities of daily living. Just like the 3 necessities of life, eating, sleeping and breathing.

Blogging can change the world? You can start blogging by signing up for a free blog on Blogger and blog about anything. Shout to the world and someone will listen because the whole is always greater than the sum of the its small parts.

Wow! Can blogging change the world. It’s changing many aspects thats for sure.

We work with corporations who use our software to humanize their organization. The Mass Media world had companies focused on Branding and acting like faceless institutions. Social media gives us the opportunity to actually relate on a person to person level.

Here is clip from a recent Dallas Morning News article:

“It’s clear that when it comes to traditional authority figures – whether they’re chief executives or heads of state – people trust them less,” says Mr. Edelman. “Employees are the new credible source of information. We have data that shows an employee blog is five times more credible than a CEO blog – and I say this as a CEO blogger.”

Blogging is certainly changing the world of business…one could argue that it’s the business agenda that drives the world….so I guess this is a good thing :-)

I don’t know anything about blogging. But I heard that it is akin to writing a journal or a diary. The only difference is that blogging is like an “open book” that anybody who have access to the internet can read whereas a diary is a very private thing.

    Can blogging change the world?

I have a similar question…can writing a diary change the world?

I am not very sure if it can…..i actually doubt that blogging can change the world. Can a man’s private thoughts change the way the people who inhabit this world live?

What if i am a blogger and all I write is about my hobbies and my pet peeves, …. what if all I write is about the greatest musicians that walked this earth ( the Beatles?)? Can it change the world?

What if all I write in my blog (suppossing I have one) is about my country, can the people who live someplace else change their way of living because of what i wrote?

They say that information is very valuable. But for me any information that you cannot use is, well, useless. Let’s say someone have read a blog about business ideas but this someone is not a business person nor does he have any interest to it, so what good does that blog do to that someone? Nada!

yes, blog is the extension of the blogger’s organic brain. blogging opens a superhighway of self-expression and freedom of speech but then it should be handled responsibly for blogging can either help or break. for more of my views about how blogging can change the world follow the link
